University of Tulsa, Conference Honoring Aquinas’s 750th

Call for Papers

The Honors College and the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Tulsa invite graduate students to submit paper proposals for a conference honoring the 750th anniversary of the death of St. Thomas Aquinas to be held 7-9 March 2024 on the campus of the University of Tulsa. This conference will gather Theologians, Philosophers, Historians, and other interested scholars to mark this anniversary.

  • Thomas Hibbs – Baylor

  • Matthew Levering – University of St. Mary of the Lake

  • Catherine Peters – Loyola Marymount

  • Angela Knobel – University of Dallas

We welcome proposals for papers of 20–25 minutes focusing on the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, from a variety of disciplines such as: Theology, Philosophy, Anthropology, Political Theory, History, Hagiography, Literary studies, and Liturgy. Proposals should contain a title and abstract of 200 words or less.

Accepted speakers will receive a travel stipend of $1000.
